Council to sell off unnoccupied buildings

North East Lincolnshire is eyeing the sale of some 19 vacant buildings from its property portfolio, with the aim of saving some £238,000 in annual maintenance costs.

According to the Grimsby Telegraph, the authority is looking to generate some £4 million from selling the buildings by 2015.

The paper said it had uncovered the information through a Freedom of Information request, and that the most costly buildings to maintain were vacant schools.
