Deal reached to halve Humber Bridge tolls

North East Lincolnshire Council has agreed a deal with neighbouring councils which will halve tolls on the Humber Bridge.

The deal will see central government offering to write off £150 million of the debt, with the councils agreeing to underwrite a share of the remaining debt.

A single crossing could now cost £1.50, with hospital patients crossing for free.
